Vad används Germander till?

Germander herbs are members of the Lamiaceae or Mint family, which includes lavender and sage. This is a large genus of evergreens, from ground covers to shrubs to subshrubs. Creeping Germany (The Canadian team) is a woody, perennial groundcover that spreads through underground rhizomes and reaches only about 12 to 18 inches (30 to 46 cm) tall and spreads 24 inches (61 cm) across. Germander herb plants bloom lavender-colored flowers in spring borne by green toothed foliage.

Germander got its name from King Teucer of Troy who used the plant in his medicine. It continued to be used until this date as a gallbladder and liver remedy that has a soothing effect on the intestines.

Germanders are rich in essential oils and contain up to 12% tannins. Also contains flavonoids, di-terpenes, iridoid monoterpene and traces of alkaloids. Germander is used in folk medicine to treat diarrhoea, cough, jaundice and abdominal pain. Scientific study of Teucrium shows that it has cytotoxic and antispasmodic effects.

Germander also reduces stomach acid, and can be used to improve general immunity. Bile, liver and pancreas also feel good from Germander. There is a lot of vitamin C and other substances that have strong
